KidsGoals Parent Newsletter Issue 26

Issue #26 is a continuation on the theme of goal setting from our Dec 30th newsletter. KidsGoals Parent Newsletter Issue 28

Since our theme for February is all about love and friendship our first article will be about the benefits of friendship for our children and how sometimes friendships don't always come easily for some children. The next article deals with how to make your children feel loved, keeping in mind what is age appropriate as there is a huge difference in how to demonstrate love to a baby as opposed to a rebellious teenager.

KidsGoals Parent Newsletter Issue 29

Our first article deals with helping our children to learn to dream big. They need to know that nothing is impossible and only the sky is the limit….or is it?? It is fine to have small goals that are attainable but deep inside every child is an incredible possibility and it is our duty as parents to help them to realize their magnificence. Children look to their parents for their self worth and it is so important that they know at a young age just how amazing they really are. How you talk to your children is crucial and the next article deals with how to communicate with your children in as loving a manner as possible.

KidsGoals Parent Newsletter Issue 30

The theme for the March newsletters and blog is going to be all about how to make learning enjoyable for your children. While this is not always an easy task for parents, keeping your kids motivated to learn is essential and will help ensure their academic success. One powerful technique that you can teach your children is mind mapping, which will be a great aid to your children when it comes to studying. Cassie and I hope you will find the article informative and will want to introduce your children to this powerful learning tool.

KidsGoals Parent Newsletter Issue 31

A Father (Brian) wrote to us after reading our article on "Learning and Education" that while education was very important there was something equally important that children need to learn and that is how to use their imagination. He commented that it was sad that so few children actually learn to use their mind in this way. Cassie and I agree wholeheartedly and thus the first article is about how to help your children learn to use their imagination.

We are also firm believers that learning should be as much fun as possible, so with that in mind the second article is about cooking with your kids. When you cook with your kids you are not only teaching them the obvious, how to cook, you are also teaching them math and chemistry and having a blast while doing it!! It is also an excellent way to bond with your children.

KidsGoals Parent Newsletter Issue 32

We hope you will find the information helpful, and enjoy the tips on how you can inspire your child to write.

KidsGoals Parent Newsletter Issue 36

During June we hope to bring you some articles that will help you to help your children cope with exam stress. Even young kids are often faced with tests and exams at school, and for some children the pressure can prove distressing. In extreme cases, some children can even sink into depression. The article for this issue aims to give you some ideas to help your child develop the essential skill of concentration. Once your child can concentrate well, he will be able to study more effectively, and to enjoy it more. The most important thing when teaching children concentration, or any other important skill, is of course to MAKE IT FUN! So we hope you'll find that you can use some of the ideas and games in the article in an enjoyable way for both you and your child.

KidsGoals Parent Newsletter Issue 37

Whether you tend to side with Al Gore or the naysayers when it comes to the question of global warming and climate change we all have to agree our planet is not what it used to be. We all want our children to be able to breathe clean air and have a chance to experience nature at its best, but this is not a given. The air we breathe is not so clean any more and many of the animals that once were abundant are sadly becoming extinct. Now is the time to educate our children so that they can appreciate the beauty of nature and teach them that even the small things count when it comes to preserving our planet. In this issue we will talk about ways that you can make your children more "planet conscious'' and teach them how they can do their part.

KidsGoals Parent Newsletter Issue 38

KidsGoals Parent Newsletter Issue 39

It is good practice for children to start with small short- term goals before they try to tackle the larger long term ones. In this issue we have suggestions to get your children excited about setting a few doable goals that they can accomplish before they return back to school.

KidsGoals Parent Newsletter Issue 40

As parents we tend to judge when our children are out of line and are quick to set them straight, but if our children are kind to their brother or sister or share a toy with a friend, we just naturally expect it of them and do not usually acknowledge the behavior by thanking them for their consideration. It is important to praise our children's empathetic behavior every chance we get. Very young children are not naturally empathetic and are not developmentally capable of understanding empathy, so it is up to us as parents and caregivers to teach them compassion and caring. In this issue we deal with this subject and show you a hands on approach to teach your children to be more compassionate and caring beings by acknowledging how they are feeling and showing empathy towards them when they are upset or angry.
